18 years ago, on 2nd of September, my mother gave birth to a baby girl. 18 years passed by, and yesterday, on 2nd sept 06, she had a biggest surprise ever on her birthday.
Yesterday morning, I woke up feeling extraordinarily normal. It was my birthday… nothing special. Then when I went downstairs to get a banana for breakfast, my mother asked me where I wanted to go for lunch. Then she suggested going to KLCC, and I thought, why not? Let’s try the Thai food. Off we go, with my dad driving and my family packed behind. I couldn’t really remember the name of the restaurant, I think it has a “Palace” in it. When we went in, I knew it would cost a big hole in my dad’s wallet as only a few customers were there eating and it was lunch hour in KLCC.
We ordered an appetizer, and 4 main course. The appetizer was really special. It is sort of a leaf (fresh and uncooked), and you are supposed to put on some sauce, peanut, ginger, onion, chili, lemon (slices of lemon with its skin), and some other stuff I couldn’t identify. Then came the main dishes, most of which, is really spicy. My dad, thought he was real good at eating chili, ate a whole mouthful of green chili padi and couldn’t talk for fifteen minutes. My brother, accidentally ate some chili padi, kept repeating how hot it is and how the taste went up to his ears and all… Then the desserts. It was ok but I don’t really fancy it as it was made up of coconut. All in all, the meal was great. (And hot.)
After that we went and looked around, (my mum ended up buying a thousand ringgit worth of pillow case, bed sheet, pillows…with my brother grumbling beside her. Thanks to the salesman.) and finally got home at around 4. At about 5, Kit Loong called and then we went out to “jog”.
Of course we didn’t manage to jog as it was still drizzling. So we went up to “little genting” instead. I was sitting in the car when he went to the car booth and took out a small cake. Then we went up to the cliff. He put on a candle and sang a birthday song to me. I was really happy as it was the most –a word here- thing he did. Even more surprisingly, when we returned to the car, he took out a –some text missing- and gave it to me. I was really touched.
On our way back, his cell phone rang. He said it’s his mother calling and asking him to go home for awhile to take something. I waited in the car and when he got back, he handed me a present. – text missing again-. It was really very nice, thank you.
Then when we go home, I told him I would try to make it quick (I thought my aunt would be coming over and we would be celebrating with them) and then we could go out at around 9. When we passed by my house to stop under the trees, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Who are those people standing on my garden? And what is Juen Terng doing at my house?! I was caught off my guard and I sat in the car, refusing to come down until Kitloong practically dragged me out. When I finally went into the house, I saw a lot of familiar faces greeting me with a birthday song. With my mind totally blank, I uttered a thank you and went up to bathe quickly.
It was when I went down that I finally registered into my mind who was at my surprise party. The old 5sc1 gang! As SKY explained the details of their plan to me, I was busy receiving presents from them. It was only then that I realize my brother, my mum, Kitloong and of course, SKY was the mastermind behind this plan. Thank you very very much.
Of course, I would also like to thank all of those who make their time and effort to come to my surprise birthday party. To list here: Sky, Kit Loong, Pei Yei, Zheng Ling, Ester, Jian Xuan, Dominic, Yet Zi, Kam Hei, Shim Hwa, Siew Yen, Carrie, Johan, Wei-I, Wei-Li, Sze Ying, Pei Pei, Elwin, Seng Loong, Shiuh Feng, Meng Yue, Wai Fai, Wei Zhong, Aih Sheng, Julian, Yuan Ruh, Juen Terng, Chun Wah, and a new guy I couldn’t remember his name.
I hope I didn’t miss out anyone. Thank you for coming. Hope u all had a nice time there. I knew I had.
